Gibson Used Frac Oil Reclamation Process
Gibson is the only Canadian manufacturer of frac oil, which offers a recycling service for spent frac oil to reduce customer program costs and minimize impacts to our environment. Our proprietary Gibson process known as Revflo incorporates a number of proven technologies, applied in combination to recondition frac oil for safe reuse. The process will meet or exceed industry standards, generating a safe, performance oriented fluid for continuous application in well completions.
Gibson's reclamation service involves the reduction of fracturing gellant/breaker chemical additives, including removal of residual solids comprised of fines and proppant. The process provides a reduction of RVP(Reid Vapour Pressure) to meet IRP standards. QA/QC procedures are followed every step of the process. In addition, Gibson is introducing a volatile phosphorus removal process in the fall of 2008. This innovative proprietary technology will remove phosphorous artefacts from the frac oil, returning the frac oil to the closest facsimile of a new product.
The key to the Gibson reclamation technology is there ability to handle and reclaim diverse frac oil products. Meeting industry capacity needs has been a focus also. Our Grande Prairie facility has operated successfully since December 2005. Gibson is currently constructing a site in Edson to increase throughput capability(to be commissioned November 2008).
